Sheridan woman killed in Friday accident
A Sheridan woman was killed in a single vehicle accident on I-530 Friday morning, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
According to the report, 33-year-old Lauren A. Ray of Sheridan was traveling north on I-530 in a 2014 Hyundai at mile marker 3 when she is believed to have had a medical emergency while driving. Her vehicle veered off of the road into the east embankment before striking a tree and becoming fully engulfed in flames with her still inside.
Ray was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner.
Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the accident, according to the report.
To date, 352 people have died on Arkansas highways in 2024.
