Pine Bluff Police Department investigating Regional Park homicide
On August 25, 2024, just after 1:00 AM, Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to a reported shooting at Regional Park. When officers arrived, they were met by a group of people who directed them to an area near the waterfront.
Officers located a male victim lying in the roadway near the waterfront. The male had serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Jefferson County Coroner’s office.
The deceased male was 25 years old. His identity will not be released until family is located and informed of his death. He will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy to determine official cause and manner of death.
Witnesses at the scene reported that there was a large group of people gathered in the park when gunshots were fired in the group. Two other people received gunshot wounds during the shooting. Their injuries are reported as non-life threatening.
This homicide is still in the early stages of the investigation at the time of this release, and the circumstances leading to this murder are still under investigation.
