McGehee man arrested in connection to May homicide
A McGehee man has been arrested in connection to a May homicide that took the life of Tresmond Powell.
According to the McGehee Police Department, Ronald “Red” Spratt Jr. was arrested on July 26 by Detectives from the McGehee Police Department after evidence pointed to Spratt Jr. as the perpetrator of the homicide.
Spratt was linked to the homicide after Powell was found lying in the street in the 200 block of Cedar Street in McGehee on May 31. Powell suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
EMT’s rendered aid to Powell at the scene before transporting him to a hospital, where he succumbed to his wound the following day.
A $1 Million bond has been set for Spratt. He is currently being housed in the McGehee City Jail.
The McGehee Police Department is still encouraging anyone with information on the shooting to come forward due to the case still being active despite an arrest being made. Anyone with information can call or text 870-501-1204.
